Academic college grants are given to students who attain a qualified GPA. This college grant is also given to students who have achieved an exceptional academic performance before attending college. Academic college grants are generally offered to students who have attained honors. Although some educational institutions require academic college grants application, this scholarship is sometimes given automatically to students upon entering college. Essentially, the main focus of schools giving academic college grants is of course the academic aspect; nonetheless, some institutions base this academic college grant on either need or merit, or even both.
Athletic college grants are for those individuals who are on the competitive edge. This kind of college grant is one of the most sought after scholarship. The competition for athletic college grants is usually intense as there are quite a number of students applying for this program.
There are other college grants given to students nowadays. However, departmental, academic, and athletic college grants are the ones offered by most educational institutions themselves.
